MCN is honored to have been awarded the design-build project for Arthur Richards PK-8 School – the territory’s first new school in decades.
This project will create an estimated 135,400 SF learning space for a capacity of 1,300 students. The new school will be constructed at the former site of the Evelyn Williams campus. By implementing the “School-within-a-School” concept and creating Learning Neighborhoods, students will benefit from flexible spaces tailored to different instructional modalities. The schools of the future will support authentic project-based learning, differentiated instruction, and social and emotional learning.

The D.C. Department of General Services and the D.C. Department of Parks & Recreation have selected MCN as the construction manager at risk for the Fort Lincoln Campus Improvement Project!
The $39M project includes a new recreation and early childhood education center that will be constructed in the location of the former Thurgood Marshall Elementary School. The new facility will consist of an indoor gymnasium, fitness room, racquetball courts, senior and teen rooms, an elevated walking track, a demonstration kitchen, and an 8,000 SF early childhood education center. The project also involves improvements to the 27-acre park space, such as new playgrounds for all ages, a splash park, outdoor fitness equipment, ADA improvements, lighting upgrades, and sport court upgrades.
The Lubber Run Community Center is a 2022 North American Copper in Architecture (NACIA) Award Winner. The building’s copper system that wraps the north facade was chosen for its ease of maintenance due to its patina over time and its improvement with age. Projects were judged by a panel of industry experts for their copper system design, integration of copper alloys with overall building design, the craftsmanship of installation, and excellence in innovation or restoration.
